Limitations

Being honest about what this tool can and cannot do.

  • Content longer than 300 characters may produce a dense QR code that's harder to scan reliably.
  • The tool does not store QR codes or provide analytics — download the file to keep a copy.
  • SVG export embeds a PNG raster inside the SVG, so it is not a true vector path.
  • Dynamic QR codes (editable after scanning) are not supported; only static QR codes are generated.
  • QR code scannability depends on print quality, contrast, and the scanning app. Test before publishing.

Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to common questions about QR code generation.

Is this QR code generator free?

Yes. The tool runs entirely in your browser using JavaScript. There is no cost and no registration required.

Is my data uploaded?

No. QR generation happens locally in your browser. Your URLs, UPI details, and uploaded logos are not sent to any server by this tool. If advertisements are added, the ad network may collect data as described in the Privacy Policy.

How long can the QR content be?

Content up to 300 characters is supported. Longer content can still be encoded by QR standards, but the resulting pattern becomes very dense and harder to scan reliably.

What does error correction level mean?

Error correction lets the QR code still be readable if part of it is damaged or covered. Low (L) tolerates about 7% damage, Medium (M) 15%, Quartile (Q) 25%, and High (H) 30%. Higher levels produce denser codes but are more resilient — especially useful when adding a logo overlay.

Can I add my own logo?

Yes. Upload a PNG or JPG logo and it will be drawn in the center of the QR code. Keep the logo small (about 1/6 of the QR width) so the code remains scannable. Error correction level H is recommended when using a logo.

Are the QR codes dynamic or static?

All QR codes generated here are static. The content is baked into the QR pattern and cannot be changed after generation. Dynamic QR codes (which redirect through a URL) are not supported.

Which format should I download?

Use PNG for screens and social media, JPEG for smaller file sizes when transparency is not needed, or SVG when you plan to scale the QR code to very large print sizes.

Why won't my QR code scan?

Common causes include very low contrast, missing quiet zone (increase margin), very high content length, or an oversized logo. Test the QR code at its final size and lighting conditions before printing.
